We as humans love to think that we know it all. We think we know what's best for us and we think that our plans will always work. But how many of us know that's not true. No matter how much knowledge we have, wisdom, or insight, we don't know it all. Sometimes we think we know why things happen but really, we can't figure it out. However, we know a God Who does!
One of the traits of God is that He is Omniscient which means All-Knowing. He knows what's going to happen today, tomorrow, next month, next year, ten years from now, twenty years from now, and so on. There are times we think what we do or things happen for one reason, but God sees down the road and the reason it happened was for something down the road. That's the awesomeness of God. I had a small, simple example and just from that I saw God at work.
It started that I initially had four hours of comp time because I had to work on that Saturday. There was a need to get a person in for an evaluation, so I volunteered to come in a hour earlier and then would work one less hour on Saturday as the schedule wasn't filled to the end. Initially, I was to work 7:30 - 10:30, but then it was changed to 8 - 11:00. I was happy because getting up to get to work by 7:30 was and is a challenge. Well, I didn't know how much of a challenge it would be that Saturday. Now, I heard my alarm and snoozed as normal. However, I don't know what happened, but next thing I knew it was 6:45 - I had overslept big time. If I had to be to work by 7:30, I would be seriously late, but thank God I had to be there by 8. I believe God knew I was going to oversleep so He gave me more time so I could get to work on time. Now when my schedule was changed to 8:00, did I know that I was going to oversleep? No. But God did so He changed the schedule. Although this is something small, it showed me that God cared about my timeliness to work.
It's great to know that the God we serve is all knowing and can see from the end to the beginning. That is why we can put our trust in Him. That is why we know that no matter what happens that seems normal or out of the ordinary, God has His hand in it. Thank God He's a God Who Knows! If you don't know Him, get to know Him. He'll do great things in your life. Have a blessed week!
