Complaining. This is something we all do and it comes natural to us. We complain that it's hot outside, then we complain that it's cold. We complain that it's raining, then we complain that it's a drought and we need the rain. We complain that we have aches and pains, then we complain we don't have time to exercise. We complain that we're single, then when we do get married, we complain about that. Complain, complain, complain. That's what's in our nature to do.
Some people feel when we complain, we're just stating the facts. But are they the facts? For example, when it's cold outside, there's a purpose for it - kill germs or help an animal survive. The same when it's hot - it may help someone else who needs it to be that way. Complaining just shows that we're just thinking about ourselves and not others. We're just thinking about our own comfort and not the purpose or reason behind why something is happening.
Just like pride, complaining or grumbling is something the Lord doesn't like. There's been examples in the Bible in which when someone complained, God turned against them. For example, in Numbers 11:1, when the people complained, it displeased the Lord and His anger was aroused against the people. When Miriam and Aaron grumbled or complained about Moses, God sent leprosy on them (Numbers 11 and 12). The best thing to do is not complain. Philippians 2:14 - 15 says for the most part to do all things without complaining so we can be blameless before God. We should be thankful for and in all things because God is the One Who is in charge. He knows the end from the beginning and the purpose for why things are happening. It's not until later, do we realize the purpose of why things happen.
Just like the saying when a person complained about not having shoes, but then he saw a person with no feet, we need to be grateful for what is happening in our lives. For there is ALWAYS someone who is going through something worse. So, we need to not complain, but be thankful. So, so what, we're going through this situation. There's others who are going through worse. So lets stop complaining and start being thankful for whatever we're going through. Have a blessed week!
